Hi everyone! Thank you for joining the Podcast Love. Club, my name is Sadie Mae, I’m your …. ummm host?… no not host, your listening club curator.
I am so happy you are here. I’d like to start this first listening club meeting off with The Memory Palace - Listen to 1 episode, 3 episodes, all episodes, any episode.
I want to start with The Memory Palace because it’s the first podcast I fell in love with. The host Nate DiMeo is a brilliant storyteller, his ability to paint a picture of the story he is telling truly is walking you through The Memory Palace of history.
The Memory Palace is not the first podcast I listened to, that was The History of Rome hosted by Mike Duncan. I started listening to The History of Rome because of my younger brother kept talking about it. So as a bonding thing or to keep up with the cool kid, I started listening. I discovered I love learning about history in podcast form, so from there I found Stuff You Should Know and Stuff You Missed in History Class. Then I realized I could listen to my favorite NPR shows as podcast, I started binge listening to Radio Lab, This American Life, and The Moth. I discovered Nate DiMeo and The Memory Palace after he was a guest on an episode of Stuff You Missed in History Class. I started from the beginning binge listening to every available episode at the time. I was instantly hooked. I love the short episodes, I love how much is packed into such short episodes, and YES I love Nate DiMeo’s voice (obviously).
